What are skill assessments?
Assessments let you test what you know. They measure your current skill level and show you where you are strong and where you need more work.
Find assessments at /assessment or /skill-set.
How assessments work
- Pick a skill or topic to test
- Answer a set of questions: the difficulty adjusts based on your performance
- See your score and detailed breakdown when you finish
- Get a skill level badge based on your result
Question types
- Multiple choice: pick the correct answer from a list
- Code analysis: read code and identify issues, vulnerabilities, or correct behavior
- Scenario-based: respond to real-world security situations
- Fill-in-the-blank: complete code snippets or security procedures
Scoring
- Each question awards points based on difficulty
- Your final score determines your skill level
- Time is tracked but does not affect your score
Skill level badges
Based on your score, you earn one of these levels:
| Badge | What it means |
|---|
| Entry | You understand the basics |
| Junior | You can work with guidance |
| Mid | You can work independently |
| Senior | You can lead and mentor |
| Lead | You have expert-level knowledge |
After the assessment
- View a full breakdown of your answers
- See which topics need more study
- Retake the assessment any time with new questions
- Track your improvement over time in your profile
- Earn a certificate of completion for passing scores
Take assessments before and after studying a skill to measure your progress.
